Equipment

Wrestlers should show up to practice each day wearing a t-shirt or sweatshirt and athletic shorts or sweatpants, much like dressing out for PE. Knee pads and wrestling shoes are not required, but are recommended. 

* WRESTLING SHOES (Highly recommended, not required)

* KNEE PADS (Not required)

MOUTHPIECES—REQUIRED FOR ALL WRESTLERS WHO HAVE BRACES.

If you have braces on both the upper and lower jaw, you must wear a two-piece mouthpiece.

* NO Jewelry

* NO Facial hair

All uniforms/headgear must be returned by September 18, 2025.

Home Meets

It is expected that ALL wrestlers stay until the meet is over, cheer on their teammates, and HELP CLEAN UP THE GYM.

Coaches Combs and Groover cannot roll up and carry all 15 sections of mats and any parents who could help us with this process would be greatly appreciated.

Away Meets

It is expected that ALL VARSITY wrestlers stay until the meet is completed.

MANDATORY practices Mondays and Wednesday BEFORE school (6:45a - 8:15a; subject to change upon TEAM NEEDS!

Performances at all basketball games - performances are mandatory

Appearances at other 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter sports, could include pep rallies

Maintain Passing grades, and no referrals for eligibility

Positive representation of PJHS and the squad at all times - on and off campus, in and out of uniform

What to Wear: all black, tight fitting athletic clothes (no sport affiliation/logos), authentic shoes (cheer shoes preferred)

Thank you to everyone who  tried out for the tennis team. You made it super difficult for us to decide on a team. We saw a lot of potential out there so if you don't see your number keep practicing. Playing tennis is the only way to get better. If you'd like more information on lessons come see Mrs. Lockhart in E38 for some recommendations. If you are interested in cross country you can go see Mrs. Jacques or Mr. Heady. Please don't give up and keep trying! 

If you see your number please come to E38 right after school to get your uniform. Practices will begin Monday morning at 7:15am.
